PATHALIAGHAT, August 29, 2026: St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, organised a prestigious Inter-School Group Dance Competition on 29th August 2026, bringing together young and talented dancers from six schools. The colourful and vibrant event provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their talent, creativity, teamwork and passion for dance. The competition was judged by a distinguished three-member jury comprising Mr. Adong Jamatia, the acclaimed celebrity from Tripura; Ms. Sharmili Debbarma, renowned choreographer, dance teacher and Founder of Khakthansa; and Ms. Sraddha Neogi, a dance teacher and choreographer. Addressing the gathering, Fr. Babu Stephen warmly welcomed all the participating teams, principals, teachers, students and distinguished jury members. He appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the schools and wished every team the very best for the competition. He encouraged the participants to enjoy the spirit of healthy competition and to give their best performance on the stage. The participating teams set the stage ablaze with their energetic, vibrant and power-packed performances. The audience remained mesmerised throughout the programme as each school presented impressive choreography marked by colourful costumes, excellent dance movements, creative steps, perfect timing and remarkable synchronisation between music and movement. The enthusiasm, discipline and professionalism displayed by the young performers made the competition a truly memorable occasion. After a keenly contested competition, Don Bosco School, Agartala, clinched the coveted First Prize, receiving a trophy, a cash award of ?15,000 and a certificate. Don Bosco School, Nabasardar, secured the Second Prize along with a trophy, a cash award of ?10,000 and a certificate. The host school, St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, proudly bagged the Third Prize, receiving a trophy, a cash award of ?7,000 and a certificate. A special dance performance by the members of the jury added further colour and festivity to the occasion and was warmly appreciated by the audience. The prizes were presented to the winners by Fr. Babu Stephen, along with the Principals of the participating schools—Fr. Suman, Fr. Surjit, Fr. Juel and Sr. Banri—and the esteemed jury members. The Inter-School Group Dance Competition was widely appreciated as an excellent and professionally organised event. It celebrated the rich talent, creativity and artistic spirit of young students while fostering friendship and healthy competition among the participating schools.
