FIELD STUDY TRIP TO BOXA NAGAR BY CL. XI STUDENTS

As part of its commitment to experiential learning, St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, organized an educational field study for the students of Class XI to the historic Boxanagar Buddhist Archaeological Site (Ruins) on Tuesday, 7 July 2026. The study visit was conducted under the guidance of Ms. Tulsi Debbarma, Ms. Sarojini Debbarma, and Mr. Pradip Jamatia. The group departed from the school campus at 9:30 a.m. with great enthusiasm and curiosity. On reaching the archaeological site, the students were first assigned an individual observation task, encouraging them to carefully examine the historical remains, study the architectural features, and record their observations. This activity enabled them to develop critical thinking and analytical skills while appreciating the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region. After lunch, the students participated in a series of group-based learning activities. They were divided into eight teams, each of which actively engaged in discussions, quizzes, and collaborative tasks based on their observations at the site. The activities witnessed remarkable enthusiasm, cooperation, and healthy competition among the students, reflecting excellent team spirit and leadership. The visit proved to be both exciting and educational. The students were fascinated by the opportunity to explore one of Tripura's rare Buddhist archaeological sites. They gained valuable knowledge about the historical, cultural, and archaeological significance of the Boxanagar ruins and developed a deeper appreciation for the importance of preserving the state's rich heritage. To encourage active participation and teamwork, the best-performing teams were awarded prizes in recognition of their outstanding performance during the field activities. The educational excursion successfully combined classroom learning with real-life experience, making history more meaningful and engaging for the students. It broadened their knowledge, enhanced their observational skills, and inspired them to value India's rich historical legacy. The group returned safely to the school at 3:50 p.m., carrying with them unforgettable memories and valuable learning experiences. The school expresses its sincere appreciation to Ms. Tulsi Debbarma and Ms. Sarojini Debbarma for taking the initiative to organize this enriching educational programme, and to Mr. Pradip Jamatia for his guidance and support throughout the visit. Their dedicated efforts provided the students with a wonderful opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and experience history firsthand.
