ORIENTATION FOR CL. X AND XII STUDENTS

An Orientation Programme for the students of Classes X and XII was successfully organized by St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School on the 7th and 8th of May 2026 in the school conference hall. The programme aimed at guiding and motivating the students as they prepare for their crucial academic year. The resource person for the two-day programme was Rev. Fr. Saju Thomas SDB, Principal of Don Bosco School Umswai, who brought with him a wealth of experience and expertise in student formation and education. On 7th May 2026, Fr. Saju Thomas was warmly welcomed to the school community during the morning assembly. Rev. Fr. Babu Stephen introduced him to the students and staff and accorded him a heartfelt welcome by presenting him with a traditional Risa and the school scarf. Fr. Saju addressed the assembly with an inspiring reflection, setting a positive tone for the programme. The orientation session for Class X students commenced at 9:15 a.m. in the conference hall, with the participation of 160 students. The session continued in a lively and engaging manner and concluded at 2:40 p.m. On 8th May 2026, the programme continued for 120 students of Class XII, making it a two-day intensive yet dynamic experience. The sessions were highly interactive, marked by active participation from the students through group discussions, questioning, and collaborative activities. Various games conducted in the open field further enhanced teamwork and ensured maximum involvement of the students. Fr. Saju’s sessions stood out for their clarity of thought, practical approach, and engaging delivery. His well-prepared PowerPoint presentations, relevant and thought-provoking video clippings, inspiring quotations, and sharing of personal experiences made the sessions both informative and impactful. The success stories and testimonies of students from different places added a motivational dimension, encouraging the participants to strive for excellence. The students responded enthusiastically throughout the programme, showing keen interest and involvement. The sessions were lively, meaningful, and deeply enriching for everyone present. At the end of the two-day programme, Mr. Kunal Jamatia of Class XII, along with Salomi Jamatia, proposed the vote of thanks. As a token of love and appreciation, they presented a small gift to Fr. Saju Thomas in gratitude for his valuable contribution. Overall, the Orientation Programme was a resounding success. It proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience for both students and staff, leaving a lasting impact and inspiring all to move forward with renewed motivation and clarity of purpose.
