St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat celebrated the Feast of St. John Bosco with great devotion, joy, and enthusiasm on 31st January 2026. The entire school community gathered in the school hall, and the celebration commenced at 10:00 a.m. The programme was gracefully compered by Ms. Priyanka Debbarma, who guided the event smoothly from beginning to end. The celebration began with a brief introduction followed by a prayer, invoking God’s blessings and seeking the inspiration of Don Bosco, the great educator and friend of the young. Fr. Babu Stephen, the Principal, extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to all present, especially the teachers, sisters, and students. The dignitaries present on the occasion included Fr. K. K. Joseph, Sr. Rihun Sten FMA, along with other sisters, brothers, teachers, and students, whose presence added grace and meaning to the celebration. The lighting of the lamp marked an auspicious beginning and symbolized the light of wisdom and love that Don Bosco spread through his life and mission. A special, vibrant, and dynamic dance performed by the teachers set an energetic and joyful tone for the celebration. This was followed by an excellent dance performance by the students of Class VI, which was highly appreciated by the audience. As a mark of reverence and gratitude, the staff and students offered floral tributes and candles to Don Bosco, expressing their love and respect for the saintly educator. A melodious song on Don Bosco sung by the fathers, sisters, and brothers deeply impressed everyone and added a spiritual touch to the celebration. Fr. K. K. Joseph addressed the gathering, sharing inspiring thoughts on the life, values, and educational vision of Don Bosco, encouraging students to follow his path of goodness, discipline, and service. The beautifully decorated stage enhanced the festive atmosphere and added charm to the entire programme. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr. Babu Stephen, who expressed his sincere appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the event. The Feast of Don Bosco celebration was indeed meaningful, joyful, and memorable, leaving everyone inspired by the life and mission of Don Bosco. All present thoroughly enjoyed the programme, making it a truly enriching experience for the entire school community.
