St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School Pathaliaghat
The Third Don Bosco Knockout Football Tournament was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and splendour at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat on 3rd November 2025 at 1:30 p.m. The event took place at the Don Bosco Mini Stadium in the presence of a large gathering of students, staff, parents, and guests. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Shri. Bikash Debbarma, Minister for Tribal Welfare, Handloom, Sericulture and Statistics, Government of Tripura, who honoured the occasion as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Nandu Debbarma, Chairman of Pathaliaghat Village, Fr. K.K. Joseph, Rector of St. Xavier’s Pathaliaghat, and Fr. Glorius Syiemlieh, Rector of Don Bosco Herma. The inaugural ceremony began at 1:30 p.m., with the school band giving a warm and vibrant welcome to the dignitaries. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the hoisting of the tournament flag by the Chief Guest, symbolizing the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. Fr. K.K. Joseph extended a cordial welcome address, appreciating the presence of all guests and participants. The Chief Guest, Shri. Bikash Debbarma, in his address, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the school for organizing such a grand tournament. He congratulated the school management and staff for their efforts in promoting sports, particularly football, among the youth. He also encouraged the players to play with discipline, teamwork, and enthusiasm. A colourful cultural programme, including a beautiful dance performance by the school girls, added grace and joy to the celebration, making the event truly memorable. The opening match of the tournament was played between Valore FC and Longtrai FC. Prior to the match, the Chief Guest and other dignitaries greeted the players with a handshake, wishing them success and fair play. The entire atmosphere was filled with excitement and cheer as the tournament officially kicked off. The presence of the school band, the energetic performances, and the active participation of students, staff, and parents made the event a grand success.
