SCHOOL PAYS HOMAGE TO (L) POPE FRANCIS
St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School held a heartfelt condolence programme on 26th April 2025 in memory of three dearly departed souls: His Holiness Pope Francis, Ms. Aparijita Sing (a dedicated teacher of the school), and Ms. Hamari Debbarma (beloved daughter of the school’s librarian). The programme was organized in the school hall and commenced at 9:00 AM. Ms. Priyanka Debbarma opened the ceremony with a short yet moving introduction that set a solemn tone for the gathering. This was followed by a prayer led by Bro. Augustine, which brought a sense of peace and reverence to the atmosphere. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp and candle added a touch of grace and serenity, symbolizing the light these individuals brought into the lives of others. Fr. Babu Stephen, the Principal, extended a warm welcome to all in attendance and emphasized the significance of the programme, reminding everyone of the values and inspiration each of the departed had imparted to the school community. Fr. K.K. Joseph, the Rector, spoke at length about the life and legacy of Pope Francis, highlighting his humility, compassion, and global impact. Ms. Ratna shared touching memories of Ms. Aparijita Sing, celebrating her dedication and love for her students. Ms. Priyanka Debbarma then spoke about Ms. Hamari Debbarma, remembering her joyful spirit and the love she brought to those around her.
